CABERNET SAUVIGNON MERLOT CABERNET FRANC PETIT VERDOT
The 300-year-old wine estate in the Western Cape, just 35 minutes outside of Cape Town, was once part of the prospering farm, Vergelegen, owned by Cape Governor Willem Adriaan van del Stel.
The Morgenster hillside boasts the classic Bordeaux red grape varieties; Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. More recently Italian varietals; Sangiovese and Nebbiolo, have been planted alongside the olive trees and classic varieties. Director and Wine Consultant Pierre Lurton works together with resident Winemaker Henry Kotze and viticulturist Bob Hobson, to create the ultimate best in a red blend.
