Six of the most influential voices in the world of wine are the judges of this unique wine Show. Only by individual invitation 600 wines are entered and judged. Outstanding entries from wine companies of all sizes, together establish the New World Nation of Show plus a range of trophies and medals.
Unique? Yes! This is the only wine show in the world where the wines are entered following an invitation from each country’s Judge.
”Because the wines are all selected by each of the judges the standard of wine quality must surely be higher than any competition of this size in the world”.
Bob Campbell MW.
The objective of the Challenge is to discover the New World Champions by inviting a judge from each country to choose their best wines and have them all compete against each other in a giant blind tasting of 600 wines. Each Judge is set the task of selecting 100 wines across the 15 Classes with a maximum of 10 in any one class – the best in their country regardless of company size or quantity available.
The fifteen classes are: Sparkling, Riesling, Chardonnay, Aromatic (non Riesling), Sauvignon Blanc, Other White Varieties, White Blends, Pinot Noir, Merlot/Carmenere, Bordeaux Blends, Red Blends (non Bordeaux), Other Red Varieties, Shiraz/Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Dessert.
